I am pleased to welcome you to the district’s website and am delighted to be a part of the Inglewood Unified family. Prior to joining the district, I served as the Deputy Superintendent of the Los Angeles County Office of Education and have more than 20 years of experience in public education, including an extensive background in oversight of major departments and programs that promote academic achievement by addressing safety, health and academic potential of every student.

Dr. Williams has over 25 years of experience as an educational leader and is committed to ensuring that equity and access are afforded to all students. Most recently, she was employed with Griffin Technology Academies as the Assistant Superintendent/Chief Business Official. She oversaw the Business Services Department which included Fiscal Services, Information Technology, Facilities, Child Nutrition Services, and Human Resources.  


Dr. Williams obtained her doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education from Argosy University and holds a Master’s Degree in Multicultural Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She was recognized in 2017 by the Association of California for School Administrators (ACSA) for the Marcus Foster Memorial Award for Administrator Excellence in ACSA Region XVI. She holds a Chief Business Official Certification from California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) and several other certificates in business, personnel, and school business from ACSA. Most recently, she completed the Negotiator’s Symposium with the School Employers Association of California (SEAC).

Bernadette Lucas has been an educator for over 28 years.  She came to education through Teach For America (1991).  She has most recently served as the Director of Technology for Beverly Hills Unified School District.  She served in the Los Angeles Unified School District for 23 years as a Teacher, Title I Coordinator, Advisor and Assistant Director for a teacher credentialing program, Assistant Principal, Principal, Mentor Principal, and Director of Technology.  She also teaches in the School Leadership Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills.  


Her career has been committed to equity, access, and social justice for all students. She is passionate about ensuring that each student has access to a world class education that prepares them to not only be successful, but to also thrive in a changing world.  Dr. Lucas earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and her Master in Educational Leadership from California State University, Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Southern California in May 2019 with a Doctorate in K-12 Leadership. 

Nick StephanyNick Stephany, Ed.D

Dr. Stephany has over 20 years of experience as an educational leader and most recently served as Director of Human Resources for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, prior to his transition to Inglewood Unified School District. Previously, Dr. Stephany served as a Learning and Teaching Advisor with the Cook Islands Ministry of Education. His diverse administrative leadership is enriched by his work as a school Principal, an Associate Principal, Dean of Students, and a Biology and Chemistry Teacher. As a Principal at Palos Verdes High School, Dr. Stephany led his school to a six-year Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation, a 50-point Academic Performance Index gain, and a California Distinguished School award.


Dr. Stephany earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in U.S. History from the University of California, Davis. He also earned a Master's in Educational Administration from National University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the Rossier School of Education at USC.
