NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
 
The Southwest SELPA Governance Council hereby gives notice that a virtual Public Hearing will be held as follows:
 
TOPIC OF HEARING: ANNUAL SERVICE PLAN AND ANNUAL BUDGET PLAN FOR 2021-2022
 
Copies of these Plans may be inspected at: swselpa.org under Policy/Procedures.
 
After the Public Hearing, the SELPA Governance Council will adopt the plans for the Southwest SELPA
 
HEARING DATE: Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 7:30 am
 
VIRTUAL HEARING: This Public Hearing is being held virtually via Zoom teleconference, in accordance with
Governor Newsom’s Executive Orders N-33-20 and N-29-20 respectively in regard to the COVID-19 virus.
 
ACCESS TO HEARING: To request access to the teleconference, please submit request by 12:00 pm on May 17, 2021, by emailing irina_martinez@swselpa.org with the subject “Public Hearing Access”.
 
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Members of the Public have the right to present public comments. Comments must be emailed in advance to irina_martinez@swselpa.org with the subject “Public Comments”. Comments must be received by 12:00 pm on May 17, 2021.
 
Individuals are asked to state their name and school district for the record.
Individuals who require special accommodation to participate in this meeting, including but not limited to an American Sign Language interpreter, or documentation in accessible formats, should contact the SELPA office 3 business days prior to the meeting to enable the SELPA to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accommodation and accessibility to this meeting.

(Inglewood, CA) - The County Administrator of the Inglewood Unified School District announces the resignations of Dionne Young-Faulk, Trustee Area 1, effective December 7, 2020, and D’Artagnan Scorza, Trustee Area 5, effective December 10, 2020, from their respective seats created two vacant positions on the District’s Board of Education.
 
On January 27, 2021, the County Administrator made provisional appointments to the vacant seats in keeping with Education Code 5090 et seq. and Board Bylaw 9223.  Ms. Naomi S. Hammonds was appointed to the vacant seat for Trustee Area 1 and Mr. Ernesto Castillo was appointed to the vacant seat for Trustee Area 5.  Pursuant to the respective Codes and Bylaw, unless petitions calling for special elections for either or both appointments containing a sufficient number of signatures are filed with the Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointments, both seats shall become effective appointments. Ms. Hammonds and Mr. Castillo will serve as members of the Board of Education for the remainder of the vacated term through the next regularly scheduled election in November 2022.

(Inglewood, CA) - La Administradora del Condado del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Inglewood anuncia las renuncias de Dionne Young-Faulk, Fideicomisario del Área 1, a partir del 7 de diciembre de 2020, y D'Artagnan Scorza, Fideicomisario del Área 5, a partir del 10 de diciembre de 2020, de sus respectivos escaños crearon dos puestos vacantes en la Junta de Educación del Distrito.
 
El 27 de enero de 2021, la Administradora del Condado hizo nombramientos provisionales para los puestos vacantes de acuerdo con el Código de Educación 5090 et seq. y el Estatuto de la Junta 9223. La Sra. Naomi S. Hammonds fue nombrada para el puesto vacante para el Área de Fideicomisario 1 y el Sr. Ernesto Castillo fue designado para el puesto vacante para el Área de Fideicomisario 5. The District is requesting the submission of statement of qualifications and proposals (“RFQ/P”) from qualified firms, partnerships, corporations, associations, persons, or professional organizations (“Firm(s)”).

  • The District's Measure I Bond Program.  Measure I was approved by the voters on November 3, 2020, with over 80% approval from our voters.  Measure I will fund up to $240,000,000 in facilities improvements for IUSD schools.
