Hello Inglewood Unified thank you so much for your support throughout the school closure and distance learning we understand that this has been a challenging year for all of us but I am so proud of Inglewood Unified rising to the challenge of this pandemic I am so inspired by all of you by your strength by your resiliency by your commitment to the students families and staff of our amazing Community I am so proud to say that all of our staff at Inglewood Unified is doing all that we can to ensure a safe return to our school and since the school closures in March of 2020 we have focused our efforts on planning our school reopening and we have convened a reopening task force and we have also developed and Inglewood Unified School District health and safety plan I want to assure you that our highest priority the safety and health of our students our staff and all of our family and we are fostering a safe and welcoming nurturing learning environment for all Inglewood Unified transition from a virtual learning model to in-person instruction and hybrid model we have prepared this video where you will receive details highlighting the new safety procedures protocols for a safe return to our schools hello Inglewood Unified I am Roberto Perez the Chief Operating Officer for the Inglewood Unified School District and I want to share with you our plans for the Savory opening high schools students and staff returns or in person instruction their prediction environment will look different due to our hand safety and health measures we have put in place this new normal will require an adjustment bra but ultimately these changes will keep everyone healthy and safe to prevent the further spread of covid-19 and maintain a high standard of safety staff members students parents Guardians and visitors will be required to conduct a daily sell screen at home before reporting to or work if any employee student parent Guardian visitor or anyone he or she may have been in contact with are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms including fever cough shortness of breath Alex knew loss of taste or smell sore throat as a precaution we ask that they stay home so that the safety of others is not compromised all staff and students will be required to enter any School site or District property only really identified point of entry each School site will have a designated drop-off and pick-up Point all district schools and buildings will have designated Wellness age to screen all persons entering the campus. It will be IUSD’s policy to will require all persons to wear and maintain a face mask when entering any District grounds although all students will need to pre-screen at home the designated welders age will conduct screen questions and temperature checks at each entry we will utilize temperature kiosk or non-touch thermometers to conduct temperature checks everyone will be required to do a temperature check before being allowed to enter any school campus are pre-screening area includes a combination of chronic hand sanitizer stands hand pump dispensers and hand sanitizing wipes in addition dispensers will be placed in high traffic areas all outside visitors will need to sign in and provide contact info nation whose side will have a record of the visit and their contact information in the event of a positive case all visitors will be required to adhere to a temperature check and utilize sanitation station each school would designate isolation room to confine any potential positive case if at any time more than one person is in an isolation room social distancing face mask and face shield would need to be worn while waiting to be picked up by a parent or Guardian corporate signage will be posted in all areas to reinforce social distancing hand sanitizing including signs to reinforce traffic direction students will be instructed to move incorporates as necessary throughout the day falling traffic signage throughout the campus our district will continue to provide breakfast and lunch to our students in accordance with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health guidelines Food Service workers will have access to sanitation station throughout the school and within to work areas in addition Food Service workers will maintain the standard of physical distancing and wear face coverings at all times during the process of packaging lunches all classrooms have been set up based on the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health guidelines every classroom is designed to maximize space and distance between each student and teacher students and supervising adults will be position to be at least 6 ft each other students will be giving hand washing and hand sanitizing breaks throughout the day in addition to washing hands before and after eating hand soap and paper towels will be provided at every sink and set a time it'll be available in each classroom and throughout the campus there will be minimal use of shared items in the classroom including learning tools pencils and other items shared in a group setting students will be dismissed by Class 12 student congregations they will be required to wait and it doesn't need an area where social distancing and mask will be required parents will then be able to arrive and pick up your students in the designated pick-up area we hope that this video answer some of your questions regarding School reopening and safety protocols on behalf of our Board of Education our executive cabinet our school administration and staff I want to assure you that our highest priority Remains the health and safety of all of our students and staff for more information regarding School reopening please make sure that you visit our website Inglewoodusd.com also make sure that you stay connected for critical updates regarding our District.
