Application Process:
  • Applications must be submitted online here
  • All application materials must be received by 8:00 a.m. of the posted deadline date.
  • If required, attach a copy of your unofficial transcripts, degree, and license to the electronic application. Failure to attach required documents can result in the rejection of your application.
  • The examination process is comprised of one or any combination of the following scored on a job-related basis: 
    1. A “paper screening” of the applicant’s training, background, and experience
    2. Evaluation of responses on a supplemental application
    3. Written examination
    4. Oral examination
    5. Performance examination
    6. Technical oral examination   
  • Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.

Application Process:
  • Applications must be submitted online 
    • Current IUSD employees, in the same job classification may submit a Transfer Request form to the HR Office by the posted deadline of the position, in lieu of an Edjoin application. See form below. 
    • All other interested applicants must be submit an application via the Edjoin website.
  • All requested application documents must be attached to your Edjoin application by the posted deadline date, 8am for Management positions and 12pm (noon) for Non-Management positions. 
  • All certificated positions require a resume, cover letter, recent letters of recommendations, appropriate CA credential (proof eligibility or out of state/country equivalent). Other requirements may include English Learner authorization (If embedded on credential, then upload the credential twice) and/or proof of Basic Skills requirement (CBEST or equivalent). Edjoin will not accept your application unless all requested documents are attached to the application.  
  • Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the interview process. Successful candidates will be asked to return for:
    • Management candidates: 2nd round interview with IUSD Cabinet members
    • Teaching candidates: demo lesson with IUSD students
Transfer Process
  • Current Inglewood USD employees wishing to change school site locations, hours, teaching subject within their current job classification. Requests for a new job classification must follow the application process explained above. 
  • Transfer Requests are submitted directly to the HR Office and can be submitted at any time through the school year
  • Requests are kept on file until June 30th of that school year. 
  • When an positions becomes available in the requested assignment, the employee will be contacted with the transfer opportunity. At that time, the employee can decide to accept or decline/remain in current assignment.
