Bennett-Kew Elementary School students excitedly raced to their new playground on April 11 when the school cut the ribbon on its updated play structure.
Inglewood Unified State Administrator Dr. Thelma Meléndez de Santa Ana joined members of the Board of Education, Inglewood City Council and representatives from the Carter’s Kids Organization and American Airlines during a commemorative ceremony.
The playground was donated by Carter’s Kids and American Airlines, and built by volunteers from the two organizations, in partnership with the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams mascot, “Rampage”, riled up students as they celebrated the playground.
“We’re developing the next generation to become better scholars, better athletes and better community leaders,” Meléndez said.
The new playground features a new slide, climbing bars and other fun features.
