NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF A
DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT
FOR THE
INGLEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL RECONSTURCTION PROJECT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Inglewood Unified School District (District), as lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) for the Inglewood High School Reconstruction Project (Project). The Draft EIR has been prepared in accordance with CEQA, as amended Public Resources Code Section 21000 et. seq.), and the CEQA Guidelines for Implementation of CEQA (California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15000 et seq.).
Project Applicant: Inglewood Unified School District
Project Location: Inglewood High School is located at 231 South Grevillea Avenue, Inglewood, California, and is in the western central portion of the City of Inglewood within Los Angeles County, California. The Project Site is bounded to the north by West Manchester Boulevard, commercial uses, Inglewood City Hall and the Inglewood Public Library. Residential homes and a retirement community are located to the west of the Project Site, with residential homes and West Kelso Street to the south. Additionally, South Grevillea Avenue and a multi-family apartment building are located to the east of the Project Site.
Project Description: The Project would include demolition of the majority of the buildings located on the Project Site, the construction of six new buildings, and the modernization of two of the existing buildings. The Project would also include improvements to sports fields, courts, and lighting. Students and faculty at the Inglewood High School would be relocated to the Morningside High School, which is located approximately 1.8 miles southeast of the Project Site at 10500 Yukon Avenue, during the reconstruction of the Inglewood High School campus.
The Project would result in the construction of six new buildings on the Project site, which would provide a combined total of approximately 177,739 square feet (sf). New buildings would include:
- Building 1 - Administration and General Classrooms
- Building 2 - Food Services and Multipurpose Room (MPR)
- Building 3 - Science Labs and General Classrooms
- Building 4 - Student Life
- Building 5 - Career and Technical Education (CTE) and General Classrooms
- Building 6- CTE and Music classrooms
In addition to the new buildings, the Project includes improvements to the Auditorium, Building O (Boys Lockers), and Building P (Physical Education and Girls Lockers).
Recreational components include the demolition and reconstruction of the basketball and tennis courts, a combination softball/football/soccer artificial turf field at the western edge of campus, and installation of lights to illuminate the courts and fields. The Project also includes walkway improvements, utility improvements, parking and fire lane improvements, a new pedestrian entrance, lighting upgrades, and landscaping improvements.
Environmental Topics Evaluated/Anticipated Significant Environmental Effects: The Draft EIR examines the potential impacts that would be generated by the Proposed Project for the following environmental topics: Aesthetics (lighting), Air Quality, Cultural Resources, Energy, Geology and Soils (Paleontological Resources), Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Noise, Transportation, and Tribal Cultural Resources.
Less than significant impacts are identified for the following topics: Energy, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, and Transportation.
Potentially significant impacts are identified related to the following topics: Aesthetics (lighting), Air Quality, Cultural Resources (Archaeological Resources and Human Remains), Geology and Soils (Paleontological Resources), Noise, and Tribal Cultural Resources. Measures are identified to mitigate all potentially significant impacts in these topics to less than significant.
Based on the analyses contained in the Draft EIR, implementation of the Project would result in significant impacts that cannot be mitigated with respect to Historic Resources. All other impacts studied in the Draft EIR were found to be less than significant or less than significant with mitigation measures.

Public Comment Period for NOA: IUSD welcomes and will accept all written comments regarding the potential environmental impacts of the Project and issues and alternatives addressed in the Draft EIR. All comments will be considered in preparation of the Final EIR. The comment period for the NOA begins on December 19, 2025, and ends on February 3, 2026.
Written comments should be received on or before February 3, 2025. Public Hearing: The Inglewood Unified School District Board of Education will hold a public hearting to take action on the Project and the Final EIR at a later date. A separate public hearing notice will be posted announcing the public hearing once the public review period for the Draft EIR has been concluded.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Inglewood Unified School District is accepting proposals for Fresh Pizza (Delivery and Ready to Serve), in accordance with specifications, in the office of the Food Services Department, 401 South Inglewood Avenue, Inglewood, CA 90301, no later than 10:00 a.m. SHARP, Monday, July 12, 2021. No submittals will be accepted after 10:00 a.m. on July 12, 2021.
Return Proposal Form, Non-Collusion Affidavit, and required certification forms in a sealed envelope with the words “RFP 01-21-22 – Fresh Pizza (Delivery and Ready to Serve)” on the outside.
