Open Enrollment August 19, 2019 - August 30, 2019
Plan Year Effective October 1, 2019
Welcome to Inglewood Unified School District’s 2019 Health Benefits Open Enrollment, which begins August 19, 2019 and runs through August 30, 2019! We are leaving our current benefits trust, California Value Trust (CVT), and will be joining Alliance of Schools for Cooperative Insurance Programs (ASCIP) for the upcoming plan year effective October 1, 2019.
Eligible Retirees (Over 65) who are currently enrolled in a CVT medical plan will be auto-enrolled into Kaiser HMO 10. Dependents, dental, and vision will also be auto-enrolled based upon your current coverage selections.

All eligible early retirees must complete the online enrollment process during the Open Enrollment period. You can make changes to your plan selections and add or remove dependents from your coverage through the final day— Friday, August 30, 2019.
Effective August 31, 2019—No further changes can be made for the upcoming plan year unless you experience a qualifying change in family status as defined by the IRS.

SUMMARY OF BENEFITS/CHANGES

ONLINE ENROLLMENT: If you wish to drop coverage, make changes, or if you are enrolling for the first time, please complete the corresponding online Retiree Enrollment Form(s) - Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage HMO 10 (KPSA), Delta Dental PPO, and/or VSP. Otherwise, you will be auto-enrolled according to your current coverage selections.
- Complete the required fields and then click the red "Submit Form" button at the bottom of the form.
- Select "Submit to Next Approver", which routes your selections directly to the IUSD Benefits Department.
- You do not need to submit a hard copy of the form.
- Your confirmation will be received through the e-mail address you provide with the form submission.
- Kaiser is the only available medical plan for retirees (over 65).
- If you wish to explore other non-District options, you may contact a Medicare Specialist directly at (800) 464-4941.
- Improved dental coverage at 100% versus current 70-100% tiered plan
- Increased allowance for contacts $140 versus current $120
- Retiree benefits eligibility subject to all of the following conditions: Retiree completed twenty (20) years of credited service with the District immediately prior to retirement: enrolled in a district approved medical plan at time of retirement; retired in accordance with STRS/PERS regulations; at least 55 years of age and receiving STRS/PERS.
- District contributions terminate when a retiree turns age 65 or terminates coverage with a District offered plan.
- Retiree coverage costs will be reimbursed to the district by the retiree as a condition of continued eligibility.
- Payments should be made to Inglewood USD by the first of the month in no less than one month increments.
- Retirees should make payments to Inglewood USD for any premium amounts exceeding the District Contribution by the first of each month effective October 1, 2019. Advance payments for multiple months accepted.
- If you wish to save a stamp or a trip to District Office, you might consider setting up automatic payments through your financial institutions online banking service. Add Inglewood USD as a "Payee" utilizing the below mailing address. For further instructions, please contact your bank directly.
